Whoever has not yet met the Amakusa stone, I highly recommend it! Amakusa is a Japanese sandstone. The breed can differ significantly in the subtlety of the work. This instance, in terms of abrasive ability, in my opinion, if you try to draw a conditional parallel with synthetic stones, you can, I emphasize conditionally, be designated in the region of 230-300 according to Fepa F or 45-30 microns. In terms of metal removal rate, this is one of the fastest stones, at least, from natural sources unequivocally. And practically, there is no alternative stone for this stage of work. Another very strong advantage of the stone is that it practically does not get salted! Waste metal is easily washed off with water. The stone works very uniformly, like a true, natural stone! Ideal for stainless steels and other steels that are not very hard, but heavily salted with stone.
