Bloodwood or Brosimum (Brosimum paraense) - has wood with a very beautiful color and texture structure, excellent tactile qualities. Very resistant to adverse external influences, does not deform, easily withstands mechanical loads of various types (shock, twisting), polished to a mirror. Generally speaking, Bloodwood or simply mahogany is one of the best materials for the handles of cutting tools used in extremely difficult conditions. From all other varieties of mahogany, Bloodwood is distinguished by a bright blood-red hue, sometimes with golden stripes. The wood is quite dense and heavy, which usually provides a good balance between blade and hilt. Despite the high density, it lends itself well to machining and is excellently polished.
