Boride RUBY 150 grit is a roughing stone in the RUBY series of stones manufactured by Boride in the Coarse class. The average grain size in the sieving in this bar is about 80 microns. This stone is recommended for use at material processing stages that require the removal of a large amount of metal. The size of the bar is 152x25x6mm (6”x1”x1/4”). The grain size of the bar recommended for further processing is 200 grit.
A series of grinding stones RUBY, manufactured by Boride (USA), is made of zirconium electrocorundum on a ceramic bond. Due to the alloying of the alumina abrasive grain with zirconium and the characteristics of the bond used, it works exceptionally aggressively and productively, it is ideal for starting operations of sharpening, peeling and other processes that require the removal of a large amount of metal. Works equally well on both hard tool and carbon steels and mild chromium steels. The Boride range of grindstones of the RUBY series includes whetstones with an abrasive capacity of only the roughing range of 60, 80, 100, 150, 220 grit in various form factors - 152x25x6mm (6”x1”x1/4”), 152x12x6mm (6”x1/2” x1/4”) and 152x25x12mm (6”x1”x1/2”). A series of grinding stones Boride RUBY is not impregnated, i.e. the inter-abrasive space is not filled with a special composition that prevents the products of processing from getting stuck between the particles of the abrasive (loading). The lubricating fluid during work penetrates into the stone, so the main recommendation for solutions used during sharpening is water or water-soluble coolants.
