Grommet for eyelets 6.3 mm (1/4 in.)
The rivet flaring kit is designed for mounting eyelets in a 6.3mm (1/4") hole for fastening parts of KYDEX, HOLSTEX, BOLTARON thermoplastic structures or for decorative purposes. The flaring kit consists of two parts - a matrix and a punch (striker), which are milled from high-quality stainless steel.To increase tool life, the working surfaces of the die and punch are hardened and polished.To install the grommet, it is inserted into the holes of the parts to be joined and placed head down on the die.At the top of the non-flared part of the grommet, the striker is struck and lightly hit it If the grommet is not flared sufficiently on the first blow, repeat the operation again.This simple tool and economical flaring method will reduce the cost of thermoplastic equipment and minimize the need for a workplace.It does not require high skill to obtain excellent flaring results, they can be o pursue with minimal practice in this matter.
