AS-9

AS-9 belongs to the category of EDM sharpeners, which also includes the popular Golden Star and Orange series. The abbreviation EDM means that these stones can be used for processing metal surfaces after electric spark cutting. In this case, the hardness of the near-surface metal layers after electrospark treatment can exceed 70HRC. It is for work on such materials that the AS-9 series is intended. The main recommendation for use is carbon steels. The AS-9 Series is unimpregnated, open structure, requires soaking before use and is generally recommended for use with water or water soluble cutting oils.
