Jute micarta lining Khaki G 8x40x120mm
Linen and jute micarta is a modern innovative material, which is a multi-layer base of linen or jute fabric, varying in weaving type and fiber thickness, impregnated with polymerized compounds based on epoxy or phenolic resins. Micarta was registered as a trademark by the American company Industrial Laminates / Norplex, Inc. (Norplex-Micarta). Its domestic analogue can be called getinax, which was mainly used as a basis for printed circuit boards and has the same layered pressed structure, only on a paper base. Linen and jute micarta have qualitatively better parameters than such popular materials as wood or plastic. Micarta is not hydrophobic, does not absorb odors and does not have its own odor, is easily machined, is not subject to harmful environmental influences, and in addition, linen and jute micarta has a wonderful appearance, is durable in use, and can be used to create a wide variety of color compositions from discreet monochromatic to bright multi-colored. Micarta handles are very tactilely comfortable, like wood, birch bark or leather - warm to the touch and do not slip in the hand.
After polishing the handle, micarta on a linen and jute base acquires an attractive three-dimensional optical effect created by the structure of the fabric. Once the sanding process is complete, the surface of the handle can be polished or sandblasted. In the first option, the surface of the material will be smooth, silky, warm and pleasant to the touch. After sandblasting, linen micarta becomes rough, acquires a matte tint and holds securely and tenaciously in the hand.
