Aluminum bar (base, backing, blank) for standard whetstones (with a working surface of 150x25mm or 6"x1"), which are used in manual machines for sharpening cutting tools. The size of the aluminum blank is 161x25x3mm, the ends are beveled at 45 degrees ("dovetail"). The surface of the aluminum blank is anodized. Gluing the stone on an aluminum blank provides a more secure fixation of the abrasive bar in the abrasive holder, prevents damage to the stone and allows it to be used more efficiently up to complete abrasion.
