High quality sharpening oil - Norton Sharpening Stone Oil is recommended for use with natural and synthetic oil stones.

The oil is made in the USA by Norton and is widely recognized as one of the best cutting fluids for manual abrasive cutting.

When used with natural stones (such as, for example, Arkansas stones), a small amount of Norton Sharpening Stone Oil is simply applied to the working surface of the bar.

Synthetic oilstones generally require more oil than natural ones, as artificial stones are more porous and require the body of the stone to be fully oiled.
